free·man / frēmən/
noun
a person who is entitled to full political and civil rights
a person who is not a slave or serf
Historically, men were bound to their lords and kings to serve as labor in the fields of the castles and towns. Working as serfs, they fulfilled their obligation and were thus provided the protection of the castle walls in times of attack.
The freemen were those who have established themselves freely outside of serfdom. They had skills and trades that allowed them independent means to provide for their families. They tended their own gardens. They traded with kings. They won at life.
We use the analogy of the Freemen to represent a similar socio-cultural system in which men are bound through perceived obligation (financial, marital, social) to adhere to a social policy where perceived safety, in the form of acceptance, is offered in return.

Men
“Without an authentic relationship to my inner being, other relationships in my life are shallow and lack the deep connection that I now strive for and attain.I have experienced a new birth and look at the world in a new light.”
Brad G., Business owner“I have true brothers that I never had before in my life. Brothers that challenge me from a place of love. I have gone places I only dreamed of and even then never knew how to actually get there. I am now friends with all of my emotions and free from needing others to like or approve of me. My weaknesses become my strengths. Where my liabilities are suddenly my assets. Using these portals, I have grown a bigger me. No longer do I hide from myself or others. “
Michael Welp, PhD,Author and business owner“Before, I had been afraid that if I were honest with my feelings, people would be upset with me and leave me. Today I now routinely express all my feelings — sometimes even when I am afraid. Because of my work in the group, I am clear about the direction my life is heading, and I am enrolling in a graduate degree program that will launch me into a new chapter of my career.”
David Barth, Adolescent therapist“My self view had been skewed by my judgments of how I “should be” in comparison to main stream media and my peers. Through my micro community, I began to see and implement my inherent value. Another huge gift of the micro-community experience is being able to help others grow and succeed. The joy I receive from this experience is beyond words!”
Chris Blair, Entrepreneur“The work has included tearing off the “masks” we wear and openly expressing our selves with each other. The environment is kept emotionally safe by the high standards we hold for each other. Because we have been so open to each other with our lives (the good and the bad) we can call each other out when we are not living in the direction of our highest purposes. I can see the blessings that have resulted in my marriage -directly related to the work I have done in this group!”
Curtis Foster, Adolescent therapist
Women
“I had no idea the profound effect he would have on my life. Within three sessions, he gave me something I could not have anticipated…. renewed passion, love, and connection to my husband of ten years. I feel he not only coached me, but through his masterful guidance of the primal and culturally learned dance between the masculine/feminine balance in the home, his teachings literally ignited my husband into waking up and opening to his own power and purpose. Somewhere along the way we fell asleep in this marriage, but suddenly we find ourselves once again wide awake. Our communication, our sex life, our individuality as well has our togetherness have all deepened into something more beautiful than perhaps we’ve ever had.”
